Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Celebrates Hat Trick: Third Time Winning Two Plant Quality Awards in One Year!
CAMBRIDGE, ON, June 21, 2018 - Yesterday Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. (TMMC) received two J.D. Power Plant Quality awards, gold and bronze, in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. "TMMC Team Members focus daily on our customers. We're very proud of our vehicles and happy that customers are equally pleased," said TMMC President, Fred Volf. "This achievement is a result of our Team Members building every car safely and with great care and consideration."
The J.D. Power Initial Quality Study includes 2018 model year vehicles purchased or leased between November 1, 2017 and February 28, 2018. Customers own the vehicles for 90 days following their purchase and then completed the J.D. Power survey. Plant awards are based on the lowest number of customer reported defect/malfunction problems per vehicle. This is the third time TMMC has received two awards in the same year. Today's awards take TMMC's total to 16, which is more than any other automotive manufacturer in the Americas.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc. manufactures the Toyota Corolla, RAV4, Lexus RX 350 and RX 450h vehicles at three manufacturing plants in Ontario, Canada and is the first plant outside of Japan to build a Lexus vehicle.
